There was a hurricane!!! The day before the wedding we woke up with the excitement of a day full of of pre-wedding prep planned. While we enjoyed morning coffee the storm arrived and trees began falling all around us, loud booms of transformers blowing, and then the power went out. As much as we wanted to celebrate with you all, we quickly realized the whole area was without power, and majorly inaccessible with downed trees and power lines at every turn. The wedding venue site was flooded and not accessible, making it impossible even for those who were willing to come despite the circumstances. The following day the sun came out and the roads began to clear. We got dressed in the dark with no power, trekked through debris and chaos to one of our favorite outdoor spaces, and privately exchanged vows in a field surrounded by sunshine and love. <3
